Behind The Scenes Of Acid Machine and Michael Massi’s ‘Drop Off’

Fast-rising Italian DJ and production duo Acid Machine have been making huge waves since they exploded onto the Dance music scene. Armed with a record collection that contains some of the scene’s freshest House bombs, it comes as no surprise that they have been grabbing the attention of many A-List stars from around the globe.

Fellow country Michael Massi has also been gaining a reputation as one of the scene’s most exciting new comers. He is the mastermind behind hit records such as ‘Agdash Robox’ and has been courted by a vast array of leading record labels worldwide. We caught up with Acid Machine and Michael Massi to talk about their latest collaboration ‘Drop Off’.

Hi guys, thanks for taking time to answer these few questions. For those who aren’t familiar with you, can you describe a typical Acid Machine and Michael Massi track using only five words?

Made in Naples, Homemade, 100%Clubbers, Nightly, Warriors

You have recently just released your newest single ‘Drop Off’. How did the collaboration come about?

We have been working together on various projects but we knew our partnership had something special when we first met. Beyond the passion and love for music, we both share a common dream which helps when we are working together.

‘Drop Off’ was released via AtomicSky Recordings. Can you tell us a bit about why you released the record on AtomicSky?

A few other labels were interested in the record but AtomicSky was definitely the best and most cool option.

The track has already gained a lot of widespread press support. How does it make you feel when the press fully support your record?

It is really satisfying because it shows that hard work pays off and that we are producing good music. AtomicSky have also been brilliant regarding the release.

What equipment did you use to produce the record?

That’s a secret but what we can say is that we don’t use vast amounts of equipment and software. We keep it simple as we want to create something simplistic and truly underground.

Do you mix and master your own productions or do you get help from an engineer?

We mix and master our own tracks.

How long did it take to produce the record?

The record took 5 months to produce from start to finish.

Will you be doing a production walkthrough of the track?

Of course – we are always open to helping others.

Where did you get your inspiration from when producing the track?

The inspiration from ‘Drop Off’ came from a huge Tech House rave that had 5000 people attending. The experience was immense.

Can we expect a follow up to ‘Drop Off’ in a similar style?

The atmosphere and feeling of ‘Drop Off’ will always be in our tracks but the sound in our upcoming releases is less aggressive and more psychedelic.

What can we expect in terms of future releases and plans from Acid Machine and Michael Massi?

We are just finishing are latest production which will be ready for release in October 2016. We are delighted to announce that the track is called ‘Afterglow’ and that it will be more rhythmic than ‘Drop Off’ and will be full of deep emotions as part of a dark and cosmic journey.
