The perfect match! Love Vinyl present Kon and Amir

l_e01c33180fc7a897f11ade804e3cbccaUS vinyl dons Kon and Amir are notorious crate diggers, so their visit to London this weekend where they will be playing alongside some of London’s most famous vinyl junkies and also the team behind the capitals newest vinyl emporium is a very exciting prospect indeed.

Having met in Boston in the mid nineties following a chance encounter at Biscuithead Records, the two have scoured the globe unearthing records that define the word rare, pulling from the best in deep funk, soul, jazz, R&B, Latin, reggae, and of course, hip-hop.

This passion spills into both production and compilations with Kon and Amir presenting the Off Track series for BBE, which followed their original On Track series. Kon on a production level has and continues to deliver some of the finest re-edits that have caught the attention of Gilles Peterson, Soul Clap, Jazzanova, Dam-Funk, and King Britt.

Just as you would expect from crate diggers such as Kon and Amir, their DJ sets are packed with quality and originality and with such a vast knowledge and collection of music at their disposal, offer a unique insight and education that makes you understand why they are often talked of as the DJs DJ.

Love Vinyl will offer support in the main room which should not be sniffed at. Zaf and Jake Holloway run the classic and rarities side of Love Vinyl and are both DJs who, as with the headline act, command great respect and make for one stunning night of music in the main room.

Not stopping there, room two will feature pure underground house from the stores own Phil Asher, Stuart Patterson, Rhythm Doctor and Dave Jarvis.

Kon and Amir are not often together behind the decks on our shores, and neither will their record collection, so make sure you are making a bee line for Elephant and Castle this Saturday 8th.
