House Gangsta ready to take over N7!

DJ Sneak
On Friday 6th December, DJ Sneak heads to North London to play for Faith at Highbury’s The Garage. With additional sound being drafted in, the venue’s wooden dancefloor and Sneak accompanied by the usual Faith suspects, this could be described as a match made in heaven. If you are in London and are House through and through, wild horses wont stop you heading to N7 for the night!

DJ Sneak is one steam roller of a DJ, born on the island of Puerto Rico and raised as a youth in Chicago. His Jack-attacks in person and on vinyl have been keeping House heads jumping since the mid 90s when Sneak started working in the cities legendary Gramophone Records and put out ‘Blue Funk Files’ on the equally legendary Relief Records. For nearly 20 years those trademark beats, filtered loops and rolling Bass have kept him at the top of the House game. In 2014 House is back big time and Sneaks a DJ you need to hear if you haven’t had the pleasure of doing so already. Always outspoken, whether embroiled in a Twitter face off or straight from behind the decks, this is only because of his true passion for the music. We caught up with him this week and got a heads up on a few things important to him.

P&S – How has the North American House / Techno scene been this year? Has it fought off the kandy ravers and EDM lot?

DJ Sneak – I actually don’t know, i only work in Europe, have been all summer. Last time I checked it was hella cheesey corporate n full of bullshit.

P&S – Do you think many of those in stadiums waving there hands at Avici, Aoki etc will start looking at there ‘local’ House scene, or will they be let down by a dark room and a red light ?

DJ Sneak – I really don’t think so, most people being pushed into EDM shite are sheep that will just get slaughtered for meats. I can’t speak about something I personally take NO part in. EDM = NEW  CORPORATE RAVES, no one is learning cause no one cares about the music, just the Clown show on stage.

P&S – Where in America did you enjoy playing this year?

DJ Sneak – I have enjoyed New York these past few months. Sankey’ s opened a club there and it took the Brits to come show the NYC peeps how to party, it’s doing fantastic and i fully support their move into USA.  We need something in Canada too.

P&S – Ever played Vegas? Is it as bad as it looks from the pictures?

DJ Sneak – Vegas is for Douche bags and their Fake ass lives.

P&S – 2014 – what you saying? What’s the future?

DJ Sneak – Future holds many forms of Gangster House and the whole Campaign about being real in this fake ass Industry, we stand and deliver, we will with many great releases, a relaunch of the IAHG website plus many more fun and real stuff.
I personally am back into the studio pushing through the FAT beats I always bring, besides that we still on the same track> delivering the best of Underground House.

Don’t miss DJ Sneak on the 6th December. He will be joined by Terry Farley and Stuart Patterson in the main room while Leo Zero, Dave Jarvis and Roual Galloway go from disco to funk, afro to balearic oddities in room 2.
