For two decades Bugged Out has reigned supreme as one of the UK’s most influential club nights. What began life as a Jockey Slut mag spin off, slowly evolved into a gargantuan clubbing phenomenon. Migrating from its birthplace – Sankey’s in Manchester – it has since travelled from Liverpool to London, and toured everywhere from Ibiza to Milan. No matter the location, one thing remains certain, the incredible and unrivaled Bugged Out party vibes.
Next year the club night turns 20, an enormous accomplishment deserving an epic celebration. To mark the milestone Bugged Out will be returning to the motherland – the North of England and busting out its flagship event – The Bugged Out Weekender. On the weekend of /// they’ll be taking over the Pontin’s resort in Southport – a brand spanking new location. The multi-roomed event features world renowned DJs and live acts; luxurious on site accommodation; pool parties and day-time activities a’ plenty.
With time ticking away, BO have just announced the anniversary events second wave of talent. Andrew Weatherall – something of Bugged Out stalwart – first played way back in 1995 and has been a huge supporter of the club ever since. Regulars Skream and Dan Avery (whose anticipated debut album is fresh out on Erol Alkan’s Phantasy label) both made their debut appearances in 2007. Radio 1 DJ Heidi first brought her jacking house and techno vibes the previous year. BO are excited to have relative newcomer Jackmaster back (he first played BO in 2011). Adding to the awesomeness, Dirty Bird’s Justin Martin will be heading over from San Francisco, whilst deep house godfather Kerri Chandler power slides in from New Jersey.
With two decades of experience under their belt, it’s safe to say, this birthday bonanza will be the party to end ALL parties. Be there, or be boring.
