Robosonic & Adana Twins – La Fique / Barracuda
Robosonic & Adana Twins have made great names for their respective selves in recent months. They have both championed a very modern brand of house that is quirky and full of charm, and it’s likely for that reason that Solomon has signed them up for a two track EP for his 2DiY4 label. In turn the producers serve up quite possibly two of their best tracks yet.
First up, La Fique starts with Moodymann-esque twiddling on the keys, which sound muted and distant before growing louder in the mix until you are right at the centre of them. When the plump kick drum lands and strings swoosh in the background its full on house party time – funky, musical, jazzy and rich it’s a beauty track. Barracuda is just as vibey, with lush chords, churning beats and bass and myriad samples all melted together into a soulful and slo mo house jam that will ignite any dancefloor with ease.
