Unsound set for London takeover

doc_3430_0

After having the pleasure of visiting Krakow last October for what could well be the world’s finest urban electronic music celebration, it’s safe to say we’re already counting the days down until this year’s instalment. Thankfully, though, with plans to bring the even to our own fair capital city, it looks like we’ll have plenty to whet the appetite ahead of the main soiree.

If you’ve never been to Unsound, either in Poland or its sister festival in New York,  then we’d advise you make amends this year. 2012’s European instalment came with a theme of ‘The End’, and saw heavy techno, juke, experimental tones, and deep house vibes played to revellers in venues ranging from an abandoned communist era hotel to an old tram museum (turned into a darkened sweat box by the time we arrived). Memorable moments abound (not least Bass Clef finished the Sunday night in a cavernous subterranean club).

Here’s hoping the first ever London edition can provide some similarly unforgettable experiences when it opens this autumn. Scheduled to run from September 26th-29th, venues include the BFI’s cinema, St. Luke’s, and Cafe Oto, with names on the bill such as Forest Swords guaranteed to pull in the heads. Underground sounds being the order of the day, we’ve put the full programme (as confirmed so far) below, and anyone looking for more information should probably click here.
