Stream Agoria live from Plastic People, via Rinse FM, here

There’s no denying that France has been playing a pretty integral role in electronic music over recent years. We’ve had a run of fantastic albums, from I:Cube’s last summer to the more recent (but similarly loved by all in the office) George Issakidis LP, and that’s before we even come to mention long form releases from Joss Moog and some blokes calling themselves Daft Punk.

Agoria is also another constant fixture on the Plain & Simple playlist, and as such we were rather excited to hear the Gallic techno artiste has just made a recent live set from London institution Plastic People available as a free stream. The folks at Rinse FM, Britain’s most renowned bass culture radio station and community, have also had a hand in the offering, which is a little surprising considering the DJ and organisation aren’t the most obvious stablemates in the business of dance.

That said, in our eyes this odd couple only makes the prospect more interesting, so take a listen to the following embed and see if you deem it worthy. Just before pressing play, though, it’s probably also worth noting that the esteemed boss of Infine has is also  involved in a brand new venue,  Le Sucre, which has just opened in his hometown of Lyon. Boasting a rooftop terrace, it’s the brainchild of both Agoria and fellow French don Laurent Garnier, with a little help from the regional cultural ministry and a few other interested parties. For full details of that click here, and in the meantime we’ll leave you with these rather excellent sounds, as recorded by the man himself.
