If the golden years of my youth were a movie, The Freestylers would play the soundtrack. Whether we were smashing it at Fabric, car dancing at 3am or cranking it at house parties so loud the bass induced vomiting and we won an environmental health warning…ANY Freestylers track would do. These guys are personal heroes and will be forever etched into my drug addled memory.
This month heralds their return to the scene and my heart. The duo are blasting back in GLORIOUS style with a brand spanking new album, ‘The Coming Storm’. This will be the fifth studio release for the pair following a career spanning 15 years; SO yeah, they’re a little bit balder and maybe a little bit uglier, but with over a decade of epic under their belt, just as fricking awesome.
The brand new 13 track LP features collaborations including Fast Eddie, Synikall and Stereo:Type. Adventuring through Breaks, hip-House, Jungle, Acid House and Dub this album reiterates the unique production style and approach which has earned them the sterling reputation, solid respect and special place in many a nocturnals heart.
