With the likes of Coldcut, Full Cycle, Mad Professor, Meat Katie, Santé, Dom Kane, and Marshall Jefferson already having offered various sounds to the Loopmasters sample libraries, which can in turn be bought by anyone and featured in new tracks and arrangements, it’s safe to say there’s already ample options in the archives. As such when Steve Mac’s own selection is made available it should seal the deal for anyone after professional noises to use as studio building blocks.
A DJ in the true sense, rising to prominence in the late 1980s, he was one half of Rhythm Masters alongside Rob Chetcuti (we still have Heavy Soul on repeat), lays claim to an extensive portfolio of original and remix releases, includes label management on his C.V. (both Disfunktional and current endeavour sMACk), and mixed Orbital’s Paralympics tune in his newly built studio. With all that in mind, the loops he provides should be pretty good.
And the same can be said for Andrea Bertolini, who’s also giving something to the series by way of his Progressive House loops and sounds. After re-reading Roger Sanchez, Mauro Picotto, Les Schmitz, Maurizio Gubellini, Dhany from Benassi Bros, Topazz, and Weekend Heroes, it’s safe to say he also has plenty of experience in terms of making tunes. In both instances expect to find 24bit samples (800MB and 426MB respectively), including bass loops and drum grooves with variations and breakdowns, in addition to plenty of other tools.
