Artist: Francesco Tarantini
Release: Antitesi EP
Label: SSOH
Francesco Tarantini is an Italian producer with a great rep for making his own unique tech house sounds. Here the SSOH label comes calling for his services for a new EP that has already been played by the likes of Laurent Garnier and Davide Squillace. ‘How do you See me’ is the opening track and is a rich composition of finely detailed and intricate sounds that are all stunning well designed. Vocal samples hide in the mesh of sonics and the melodies are bright and shine through like a diamond as the infectious groove gets right under your skins.
Next up is the more ramshackle sounding ‘Say What’ that pulls you in to the track over and over thanks to its great lines and grooves. ‘Lights Out’ is the EP closer and is the most reductive minimal brew of the lot, full of shiny melodies that tinkle like glass in candlelight and a minimal monster with plenty of rich glassy melodies and organic elements. Tarantini is a master of his art and this EP proves it once again.
