secretsundaze power into 2013 with their first party of the year. The secretsundaze Easter Special brings together Nina Kraviz and A Guy Called Gerald who join Giles Smith and James Priestley in the main room, and a host of talent from The Secret Agency in Room 2, with Anthony Naples, Citizen and Youandewan kicking it. And there’s even more to be announced. Get your tickets now!

After a fantastic 2012 and an unforgettable NYE party, secretsundaze’s first event for 2013 is their annual Easter Thursday bash. This year’s party comes from the newly revamped Electric in Brixton which boasts a killer sound system and state-of-the-art lighting to produce a massive dancefloor experience. The party has a well-balanced lineup that includes international big hitters as well as some of the UK’s best nascent cutting-edge talent.

Headlining for Easter all the way from Moscow is Nina Kraviz (Rekids), whose rise to prominence has been nothing short of astounding. She has become one the most in-demand artists in the world within the last 18 months, playing at Melt, Decibel and DEMF festivals as well as Fabric, Panorama Bar and The Warehouse Project, and it’s mostly thanks to her much-loved debut LP on Rekids – the eponymous ‘Nina Kraviz’, and her biggest hit, ‘Ghetto Kraviz’. She collaborated with Efdemin on his Naif imprint and released her first EP on Jus Ed’s highly regarded Underground Quality. Her sound as a DJ is varied but the roots of Detroit techno and Chicago house are ingrained within her, and one can tell that DJing, not production was her first love. Her Voices party at Propoganda ran for many years and she invited the cream of underground stars to play. secretsundaze are very much looking forward to her second appearance for them.

Second up secretsundaze welcome one of the original acid house pioneers and innovators – A Guy Called Gerald live. Gerald Simpson is very much to the UK scene what the likes of Juan Atkins is to Detroit. Hailing from Manchester, his biggest hit, the evergreen ‘Voodoo Ray’ is still cited as one of the tracks that ignited the scene and sounds just as good to this day. During his initial involvement in 808 State, he wrote the equally anthemic ‘Pacific State’. But far from resting on his laurels, Gerald’s restless desire to explore new territories has seen him produce solo material on !K7, Zip’s seminal Perlon, and he also has a new EP on Italian label Bosconi just released. His live shows are 100% mastery and secretsundaze just had to get him on board after seeing him live at Boiler Room last year in Berlin.

There are more announcements to come for the main room. Book-ending proceedings are two of London’s very best and most respected residents, secretsundaze’s very own Giles Smith and James Priestley.

In Room 2, there’s a focus on The Secret Agency with a stunning lineup that reflects the strength of its roster of young artists. Headlining is 22-year old bright hope Anthony Naples from NYC; 2012 was a fantastic year for him with his ‘Mad Disrespect’ EP on Mister Saturday Night being included in the top singles of the year by Resident Advisor (listed at number 10), Juno Plus (number 3), Little White Earbuds and SPIN. He has had props from the likes of Four Tet, and 2013 looks even stronger for him. Also stepping up is Citizen, the equally young London-based artist who’s made big noises with his releases on Kerri Chandler’s Madtech imprint and Love Fever, a busy touring schedule and Boiler Room appearance. And last up is Youandewan, hailing from Leeds, whose unique, refined, classy sound has already seen him remix artists such as Maya Jane Coles, Gerry Read and Dusky. He has forthcoming material on secretsundaze and Simple.

So with a great venue and a bill that includes established legends of the scene and some of the most exciting young guns carrying the house and techno flag for 2013, this party is surely a strong contender for one of the highlights of the Easter schedule – get in some secretsundaze Thursday action to kick off the weekend!
