Danceable and political, one of the UK’s most interesting electronic outfits prepare to unveil their third full-length offering soon, with a party in the capital this weekend to celebrate the first offering from the record. Expect things that make your feet move then.
The Last Inhabited Place On Earth is the typically dystopian title of album three from Spektrum, with their single, Robocops & Flipflops, giving us a taster, not to mention delivering one in the eye of the ever-controversial Metropolitan Police following the Occupy protests, or more accurately the treatment of attendees by the aforementioned lawmen. If none of that interests you then perhaps the fact that it’s not a case of concept over substance will entice, with the track every bit as good as it is poignant.
Friday July 26th sees club night Catzmuzik take over Cargo for a night of debauchery with underlying messages courtesy of a live performance from the group in question. On top of that you can also catch resident Dan Cat, Jay O’Connell, and Berliner RifRaf providing sounds, which sounds pretty good to us.
