Jammy’s Jaunts: 13.07 – 15.07

Jaunt (jônt, jänt)

n. A short trip or excursion, usually for pleasure; an outing

Plain and Simple’s roving reporter/man about town and clubbing addict Jammy brings you his eye view of the events he was shuffling at in the last week… This time he spent his jaunts at Spilt Milk and the Jaded Summer Warehouse…

Hey and welcome to Jammy’s Jaunts! A weekly round-up of my weekend’s proceedings. This weekend consisted of the infamous summer daytime party: Spilt Milk, Jaded Warehouse and the afterhours. So to start off the weekend, I started my Jaunts on Saturday daytime at Spilt Milk. The whole weekend was a washout with the torrential rain, but that will never stop the party and will never stop Spilt Milk! As always the faithful fans turned out in force despite the rain and the marquee was up to save anyone from the rain. Playing this time for Spilt Milk was Playset, Chris Stanford, Unai Trotti, Deadecho and headlining were The Adana Twins. Deadecho 16:30 – 18:00, Unai Trotti 18:00 – 19:30, Chris Stanford 19:30 – 21:00, The Adana Twins 21:00 – 23:00.

So anyway I strolled down there around 5pm and there was a decent amount of people under the marquee and it was still early days. Deadecho was playing then and his warm tech house groove got the crowd in the mood. Slowly but surely the crowd began to grow and as time passed, the rain stopped and the sun actually CAME OUT! It came out for a short period of time, but that didn’t matter. Everyone flocked to the corner of The Dairy and soaked up the sun! Was a great moment! Deadecho played a great set and his last 2 tracks were absolute bombs, which I still need to get off him! An awesome finish! Next was Unai Trotti of Cartulis Day and he continued where Deadecho left off and that groove continued. By then more and more people continued to enter Spilt Milk. Regardless of the weather, it still was a good turnout. But as always whenever, the weather is rainy/grim, it does mean the numbers aren’t potentially what they should be.

Chris Stanford came on at 19:30 and by then the crowd had reached its peak and the milkcrates had been lit up! The dazzling colours make such a difference especially as night falls. Check my videos on the Spilt Milk fan page for a greater look. In my opinion, his set was the greatest of the day. The Adana twins came on at the end and were close to stealing the show and having no bias, Chris Stanford just managed to sneak it. He really got the crowd going and everyone was up for it. By then all the people who had attended were all under the marquee and really loving the groove that was created. Classic tunes were dropped and he knew exactly what to play to the Spilt Milk crowd. It was nearly time for the headliner: The Adana Twins to start and again they really complimented the style that Chris played and continue the solid groove that was created. Track after track really appealed to the crowd and even late into the night, the Spilt Milk faithful stayed the course. Another great Spilt Milk adventure despite the rain, but that never made a massive difference; the party was always going to be good.

After the stint at Spilt Milk was the Jaded Summer Warehouse… This featured Raymundo Rodriguez, Chris Stanford, Heartthrob, Marc Romboy, Adam Beyer and my pals at Rejam! The main event and the afterparty were absolutely spectacular… BUT! I’m afraid I’m going to leave it there this week.. I have a wee bit of Thursday night partying to undertake tonight before my last day at work tomorrow! Prioritises people – priorities!!

Same time next week… !
