Sometimes Reading & Leeds surprise us with a lineup that has headline acts that no other festival can get, and other years it just doesn’t. This year unfortunately Reading & Leeds has no standout wow-headliners, instead opting for “safe acts” like The Cure (who are great but headlined Bestival last year), Kasabian (who have played at most festivals, most years) and Foo Fighters (who are great also, but nothing new.)
Also, on the NME/Radio 1 stage and the main stage, it’s a who’s who of acts already announced at half of the UK festivals already. Justice, who will be excellent to catch at any and every of their many festival appearances in 2012, will headline the NME/R1 tent, along with The Maccabees (great band but hardly headline material) and At The Drive-In.
There is of course loads more to be announced but currently the Dance Tent will feature Metronomy, Katy B, Azealia Banks, Jaguar Skills, Modestep, Feed Me, Grimes, The Japanese Popstars, Clement Marfo & The Frontline, Jagga and a Zinc DJ Set.
