Newcastle & Gateshead – June 3rd/4th 2012
Now in its tenth year and going strong as one of the North East’s biggest music festivals, Evolution will pack a punch come June with a lineup of massive acts that plan to make the Jubilee weekend one to remember for an entirely different reason.
Taking to the headline slot on the Spillers Stage on day 1 (Sunday 3rd) will be Dizzee Rascal, who will be joined by special guests Maximo Park, along with Miles Kane, Devlin, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Theme Park, Dog Is Dead, Lulu James, and The Lake Poets.
Canada’s Joel Zimmerman, or rather his mousey alter-ego, Deadmau5 will headline Evolution’s bank holiday Monday billing. Rizzle Kicks, Noah and the Whale, Band Of Skulls, Here We Go Magic, Spector, Jess Ware, The Milk, and Mausi will also feature over the course of the day.
Ballast Hills, the 2nd stage at Evolution will be concerned only with dance music as Turbulence & Metropolis present DJ Sets from DJ Fresh, Jack Beats, Shy FX, Friction, Toddla T, Dot Rotten, Citizen and Codename:Tyrone.
Wax:On will take the reigns of the Ballast Hills stage on Monday 4th with unmissable DJ Sets from man-of-the-moment SBTRKT as well as Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Maya Jane Coles, Eats Everything, Jackmaster, People Get Real and Mike Jones.
