New video from Federico Gandin (Opilec Music) streaming here

Last year they made us stop dead in our tracks with the excellent compilation Connections, which saw the back catalogue of San Francisco synth punks The Units get a re-appraisal via the likes of Todd Terje, Alexander Robotnick, Chris Carrier, and more. Then the organisation took us to further heights with its We Are label sampler, on which everything from electro-disco to solid, rolling techno was showcased, resulting in our invitation for the head honcho to appear in our Around the World in 80 Labels series.

Seemingly intent on making sure we can’t ignore any of the camp’s releases then i-Robots, the man behind Opilec Music is now backing another standout body of work, this time from Federico Gandin. We’ve embedded the video to his single, Don’t Be Alone, below, which is a beautiful, sun-kissed, marginally euphoric offering if ever we’ve heard one, and the clip isn’t bad either. This precedes an album scheduled for release later in the year, so needless to say we’re now all ears for news on that.
