Shake It’s 3rd Birthday is coming up on April the 5th, we are waiting with baited breath to see the line up (Shake It’s line ups over the years have included names such at Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, Magda, Dubfire… The list goes on!) they have also told us they have found a “great new space” for the venue, so we also look forward to finding out the details of this! This week however, we had mails in our boxes telling us that they will now be holding an extra party on Saturday 18th February before their birthday… It seems the Shake It! gang got together and got all wistful and nostalgic, because its also 3 years since London’s iconic club “The End” closed its big silver doors (those of you in the know will know that Shake It! was born out of the January 2009 closure of The End & AKA and is run by Layo & Bushwacka! and the team behind the much loved and missed legendary West Central Street site) they also felt they were not alone in this feeling, so have decided to throw a very special intimate party… at short notice! hurrah!
So now, Shake It will be back with their first party of 2012 on Saturday 18th February with resident international jet setters Layo & Bushwacka! (who’ll be fresh back from their two month South American tour, packing glowing tans and hours of hot new music for your dancing pleasure). They’ve recently come across an amazing little space and have snapped it up for their first party of the year. The venue is small (capacity of only 500 people) but has the possibility of becoming a Shake It Classic! However, in true warehouse party tradition, they will be keeping the location under wraps for another week or two, so watch this space. Also kept under wraps will be the identity of a special guest (who they say is an old friend, that hasn’t played for them for a while) this will also be announced next week…
We will have a comp for you guys to get hold of some tickets to this extra special event and will announce details of how to win these next week too – keep ’em peeled!
£10 Early bird tickets are on sale now, available initially through Ticketweb. And tickets for this party will be very limited due to the small size of the venue. So if you’re intending to come along please purchase a ticket well in advance.
