Introducing Relay… Cable’s new sister venue

Relay is the brand new sister venue for Cable launching on Feb 4th 2012.

Created out of the space that was previously Cable’s mysterious 3rd room, Relay will be standalone venue in its own right, with a program of events that will run parallel to the parties at Cable next door. Having expanded into another arch at the back of Cable, the new space is larger, with a  new bar and some shiny new toilets. In addition, Relay is being kitted out with a spanking new Nova soundsystem especially configured for the new space – bringing it up to the same world class standard as Cable’s main room. The lighting rig will be totally overhauled and new LEDs across all the walls will crate an ever changing sheet of colours. At the same time, the exposed brickwork remains.

The venue will be run by the same award-winning team behind Cable (Time Out’s Best Club Venue 2011) and will enable them to program an even more diverse range of parties across two venues in their London Bridge home. An independent program of events will run in the 500 capacity space, although for really big nights Relay can still open as part of Cable, providing a third room as it did before. The space is also set up to handle live bands as well as DJs, opening up further exciting possibilities for both venues.

Ryan Ashmore, Head of Business Development for Cable says: “Transforming this additional and underused space into a fully-fledged sister venue is a natural progression for Cable. It’s really exciting to have already reached a stage where we are expanding, despite not even having reached our 3rd birthday!”

Relay’s flagship Saturday night will be a weekly house night [Moh-Teef], launching on Sat 4th Feb and bringing artists such as Panorama Bar’s Margaret Dygas , Kozo & Cezar and Cadenza’s Alex Picone to the venue, alongside residents J Nelson, Pete Glasspool and Leroy Roberts. The team behind [Moh-Teef] felt that there was a gap in London’s nightlife for a quality, underground weekly house night – and wanted to provide a party where house heads can drop by, regardless of who’s playing, and know they’ll be friendly faces and a great soundtrack. The ethos behind [Moh-Teef] is to provide an intimate, friendly vibe where residents are joined by one or two guests each week – with a mix of more established names alongside hot new talent.
