In 2006 Cesare Marchese opened the doors on Mean Records, a label he still heads up. Five years on and the imprint has gone from strength to strength, despite still only releasing a small number of (hand picked), often boundary pushing bombs.

It’s important to note though that we’re not talking hysteria and white noised filled eruptions, more intelligently conceived, thoughtful and poised implosions that set apart adults from the kids. Alongside False Manners Cesare vs Disorder, a name many may be more familiar with, also relishes in video production, creating clips for each release. Then there’s past and forthcoming collaborations with the likes of Vakant man Tolga Fidan, and Wagon Repair’s Konrad Black, and a debut album rumoured to be in the pipeline for sometime later this year.

All of which makes it logical that Fabric have offered Room 3 out to the man in question his label mates, who no doubt intend on using the space for an intimate journey into trippy 6am soundscapes. The Mean Records takeover is on Saturday, September 3rd, with Rudolf, Akiko Kiyama, and Onirik playing on the same system. Full details of that below, and as per usual Farringdon’s finest have got themselves prepared by interviewing Cesare vs Disorder, and asking him to compile a mix packed full of exclusives and the n’er released. What more could you ask for? Read the interview here, instructions to get the complementary music below.
