What does it sound like?
The mighty (and old enough to know better) Terranova return and unveil the first track from a forthcoming album, a piece of work that’s amongst the finest acid house arrangements we’ve heard in quite some time. Think a classic 303 bassline, occasional keyboard hooks, and an eponymous chorus, before a subtly evocative sheet of solid synth joins the pack. Yep, very nice indeed.
Flip it and Take My Hand is an altogether different affair, opting to employ a slower tempo, mechanical percussion, seriously low-ends, and the vocals of Khan, who suggests, in the deepest of tones, that we “walk with him”, and offers “take my hand”. With an overbearing sense of darkness abound throughout this rather minimal outing it’s probably a good idea to follow the instructions, and by doing so we find ourselves hearing a dubby background melody and whispering females.
Where would I dance to it?
Warm up sets, peak time hours- with A and B representing relatively opposing takes on this thing we call house music it’s open to interpretation really.
What highlights can I expect to hear?
You can’t start off with the warmth of I Want To Go, manage to retain that initial energy, and wind up producing something close to an anthem in the making and not expect us to focus on said tune. And we do mean tune.
