This week’s treat from the good folks down Farringdon is crafted by a gentleman who’s been something of an anti-thesis to what has become the French electronic mainstay for well over a decade. Less Ed Banger or Daft Punk, more raw, stripped and, most importantly, impossible to resist house music of the dark, techy variety.
After 15 years in the game plenty of people should recognise the name D’Julz. His imprint, Bass Culture Records, is now synonymous with quality dance tracks, his DJ sets are nothing short of compelling, and now you can take home some of that by way of a mixtape he’s put together for Fabric. As per usual the club has also interviewed the man, read that here, and all this is because he will be taking over Room Two at the hallowed haunt this Saturday, wherein he’ll be flying the imprint banner alongside Arnaud Le Texier, with live sets from Anonym and Lemos.
