He’s one of Detroit’s freshest heroes, and plays an integral part in the sourcing of artists for Spectral Sound. But on Saturday July 2nd he’ll form one of the focal points for Five Years of Leftroom Records, and event that will see the UK label take over London’s most acclaimed underground space.
Needless to say expectations are high for Ryan Elliot‘s set at Fabric, which marks the welcome return of a man who was first brought to these shores by Farringdon’s finest more than a few moons ago. This time round he’ll appear alongside Matt Tolfrey, Inxec, and Mark Chambers, which should be enough of a sell in itself.
But if more persuasion is needed perhaps a live show from Martin Buttrich, a set from Moon Harbour’s Matthias Tanzmann, and some records courtesy of legendary resident Craig Richards will seal the deal. And should anyone still be looking for more reasons to attend, then the slightly smoother house stylings of Hot Natured’s Lee Foss and Jamie Jones in Room Three ought to clinch it.
A week is a long time in music, and day jobs, so to see you through until the party starts Mr Elliot has put together 64 minutes and 31 seconds of beats, inspired by the same sounds he puts into his revered club performances (Axis, M Plant, Kompakt, Perlon…), only taken slightly downtempo. What’s more it’s free to stream, own, and love, with the only action required from you being a click below, and another on the download link after that. While you’re there though it might also be an idea to check out an interview with the man himself, just to get a bit more acquainted.
