Preview: First line-up announcement for eastern electrics August 2011

London’s renowned eastern electrics bonanza is always a good party, and this August at Great Suffolk Street Warehouse the ee crew do it again, bringing in some fresh new names and packing three rooms with some of the most exciting, emerging, and breaking sounds of the underground.

Three times a year eastern electrics converges on London, bringing together for one night only more talent than the mind can cope with. The next instalment is on Sunday August 28th 2011 and this time they’ve brought in some fresh blood to join in the fun…

mulletover goes BIG this August, and first up they’re giving you Robert Dietz and Simon Baker.

Frankfurt favourite techno DJs, Robert Dietz has a knack for mixing the old with the new. His style evokes the effortless and ebullient old school house vibe, while demonstrating his fine DJ/producer pedigree with intricate and intuitive sets that hook an audience. He gradually makes a room his own – and imprints on all those who hear him play.

Offering a unique understanding of the deeper side of house and techno, and a true love for all music, Simon Baker has finely honed his technique, to become one of the most versatile and passionate DJs in electronic music.

Joining seasoned room curator mulletover at Great Suffolk Street Warehouse for August 28th’s loudest party are burgeoning house label Made to Play and cutting edge DJ agency Reprise – who each bring to their rooms lineups made to make your mouth water.

Made to Play’s lineup pushes musical boundaries while still maintaining its house music integrity. And the lineup for eastern electrics August 2011 is serious. Made to Play host a room packed with some of their most exciting – and most innovative – talent: Riva Starr and Zombie Disco Squad.

Riva Starr has an unrivalled energy for house music – a passion that is as inspiring as it is electrifying. Forever pursuing a new angle from which to approach his production, his style ranges from the sublime to the ridiculous: provocative in its exploration of the history of the sound and proactive in treading new ground. A Riva Starr set is never boring: his personal bootleg technique – nicknamed ‘Snatch!’ – ensures every outing is a new beginning for this multitalented DJ.

London duo Zombie Disco Squad combine a sense of humour with a wide range of influence for their production, leading the way on a new and exciting direction in house music. Lucas Hunter and Nat Self have earned a reputation for taking a fresh look at house production, and their sets are just as well-crafted.

Reprise is an independent and organic London-based agency that has firmly planted itself at the cutting-edge of the bass sound. With a roster of more than 60 artists and a passion and understanding for music that flows throughout the agency, Reprise are known for nurturing talent it to its full potential. And this August bank holiday they’re bringing Paul Woolford and T. Williams to the party.

Experimentalist DJ and producer Paul Woolford is a leading light in today’s dance music scene, and a true artist in every sense of the word. His craft is making music of the highest quality – and injecting true emotion into his sound. But there’s nothing predictable about his DJ sets – expect the unexpected from one of the most in-demand names in electronic music.

T. Williams is one half of dark house duo Deep Teknologi, but on his own his star really shines, as he strips down his music to its most basic elements – no gimmicks, no wobbles, just pure human expression of the funky bass sound. His production is intricately layered, infectious and impressive. You’ll be wrapped up in this sound.
