What does an appearance on The Guardian‘s New Band of the Day (No. 1,039), a release on Belgium’s legendary R&S, and a slot at the label’s showcase which will be aired on Boiler Room TV suggest? Perhaps that things are going to get decidedly busier for the act in question.
That’s certainly how we see things, and although never ones to jump aboard the dirty ship bandwagon in this instance Vondelpark have done little to dispel this prediction. The London-based three piece’s second EP is doing the rounds in the right places, and will fit nicely in with an alt-club scene obsessed by lo-fi R&B (James Blake), post rave bass (Jamie XX), and glitchy pop-lover friendly electronica (Mount Kimbie). External references to one side, here’s the video to Camels, a melancholic offering that’s both reflective and emotive.
