Southport Weekender

Kicking off in just ten days the Southport Weekender will mark the start of a manic festival-going summer for many music fans. It’s lineup, as diverse and exciting as ever, includes a ‘classic US house set’ from the revered Roger Sanchez as well as performances from the likes of Derrick Carter, Carl Craig and many more. Bestival

Although it’s quite a way off Bestival has fast become one of the UK’s biggest and best festivals. This year is no different as an array of acts, from Public Enemy to Pete Tong, along with 55,000 people, will flock to the Isle of Wight in September. Glastonbury Festival

Glastonbury traditionally kicks off the festival circuit in notorious fashion. Whether it’s controversial headliners or reports that the heavens have opened, it’s the mammoth music festival in the UK with around 150,000 attending every year. 2011 sees an eclectic mix of acts from global superstars like Beyoncé to stars of yesterday like Wu-Tang Clan. South West Four Weekender

One of a handful of festivals that has hoards of music-lovers flocking to Clapham Common is South West Four Weekender, one of London’s best dance-dedicated events. This year the lineup has continued to grow and continued to impress as Pendulum, Magnetic Man and Underworld are confirmed for exclusive London appearances. Vocal Booth Weekender

Festivals abroad have become ever more popular as ticket prices have steadily risen and unpredictable weather in the UK has made attending anything in the UK hit-or-miss. The Vocal Booth Weekender, under the almost-certain sunshine of Alicante, Spain, is gorwing to be a popular and promising annual dance event.  Head to the official website for more information.

 

Lovebox Weekender

Set up almost a decade ago by Groove Armada’s Andy Cato and Tom Findlay, Lovebox has gone from strength to strength in becoming one of London’s premier festival-going destinations. This year sees a very special performance from Snoop Dogg who will be performing his seminal album Doggystyle from start to finish. Plus there will be performances from Example, Metronomy, Katy B, Scissor Sisters, 2ManyDJs, Kelis and of course, Groove Armada. Exit Festival

With more music for your money, Exit Festival in Novi Sad, Serbia has a lineup that’s as alternative and diverse as you can get. Already confirmed for this bargain event are: Arcade Fire, Pulp, Jamiroquai, Portishead, Deadmau5, House of Pain, MIA, Magnetic Man, Fedde Le Grand and many more…

South London Calling

South London Calling is a one day house-music festival in the heart of Crystal Palace Park. Main stage headliners include Sidney Samson and Tom Novy whilst Arena 1 will see Toolroom present Leaders of the New School amongst an array of other great artists. Tickets are just over £30 too so it’s well worth a visit!

Run to the Sun Festival

Andy C, Grooverider and Eddie Halliwell are amongst the acts confirmed for Newquay’s RttS festival in 2011. plus there’s plenty of sand, sea and sunshine too!
