As a Plain & Simple favourite, Bestival has done it again this year and put together a lineup that’s full of mouthwatering musical prospects. With eclecticism and entertainment firmly in mind, the organisers (including head-honcho Radio 1’s Rob Da Bank) of the eighth Bestival have concocted a mix of rock gods, pop prodigy’s and dance masters. After the sell-out success of last years festival, which saw the likes of The Prodigy, LCD Soundsystem, Chase & Status, Simian Mobile Disco, Dizzee Rascal, The Flaming Lips and Hot Chip take to the stages, 2011 is proving that the motto at Bestival HQ must be “bigger and better.”
With incredible headliners The Cure, Pendulum, PJ Harvey, Primal Scream, Brian Wilson and DJ Shadow due to take to the decks and close to 100 more on the bill, Bestival is a must for music-lovers this year.

Hip-Hop Headliner: Public Enemy
All the P’s: Pendulum, Primal Scream, Public Enemy and Pete Tong
This four alone will have Bestival-goers enjoying anything and everything from drum ‘n’ bass and psychedelic rock to rap, hip-hop, house and trance!
With the exception of Pendulum, this little bunch have clocked up almost 30 years a piece in the music industry!
Dance Duo: Groove Armada
Best of British: Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada, Magnetic Man, Katy B
Two of dance music’s biggest and best, Fatboy Slim and Groove Armada, will be on hand to deliver huge sets to the Bestival masses.
Meanwhile, two of Britain’s brightest up-and-comers Magnetic Man and Katy B will feel obliged to give the crowd a healthy serving of dubstep and urban anthems.

From trip-hop to electro-pop (labeled “noise-rock” by some!) these are four must-see acts at this year’s Bestival. Crystal Castles and Health never fail to provide psychadelia at it’s very best whilst the ever-resourceful master of samples DJ Shadow’s reputation precedes him. For Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, now a staple of the UK festival circuit, thought-provoking and poetical lyricism comes naturally.
Golden Oldie: Grandmaster Flash
Blasts from the past: Grandmaster Flash & Toots and the Maytals
Most of the Bestival lineup were probably still in nappies around the time influential Hip-Hop DJ and producer Grandmaster Flash was starting out and he’s sure to be one of the biggest blasts from the past at this years Bestival, and certain to put on one hell-of-a-show.
Also returning after what has seemed like an eternity will be Toots & The Maytals, who, with a string of other festival dates dotted across their calendar, will be at Bestival with their inimitable feel-good reggae material.

They’re possibly the most-anticipated headline act of the year and for good reason. Celebrating their 35th year in music The Cure are quintessentially British rock and one of the UK’s fondest feel-good bands.
