Global Communication return

And unveil a new mix CD, along with dates at a few noteworthy festivals this summer. So, without further waffle, here are the details.

Longstanding stalwarts-cum-heroes of the electronic scene, Tom Middleton and Mark Pritchard, will return under their critically lauded moniker, Global Communication, next month. On May 30th a brand new double mix album is released, which sees the pair join legends like DJ Sneak, Dave Clarke and Louie Vega, by compiling the next issue of NRK‘s much-loved Back In The Box series.

As one would expect, it’s a genre-crossing meld of music that wears old school roots on the sleeve, while still managing to create something wholly new. Tracks from System 7 & Derrick May, Richie Hawtin (here as F.U.S.E.), Speedy J, Aphex Twin, 808 State, Model 500, and, of course, Global Communication will be smeared over the two discs. Which all sounds pretty good to us.

Off the record, and onto the stage, the duo will also play Glade in June, and Bestival early September, while those lucky enough to make it over to Barcelona for this year’s Sonar can catch a live rendition of their groundbreaking LP, 76:14. And, finally, there’s some talk of a similar show scheduled to take place at the British Library in London later this year, details of which we’ll bring when they land on our plate. For now though we’ll leave you with this reminder of the classic album…
