Weasel blog: funny links, podcasts, best of weekend’s events…

Good Afternoon!

So many April fool’s today in the press – from Fabric releasing a new energy drink (I actually believed that one for a few hours) to gorillas getting ipods at a zoo (yeah a very crap one “The Sun” did – waaaay too obvious!), I love these light hearted shenanigans every year, unfortunately I got up after 12pm so wasn’t able to play any jokes on the other half! Dammit! *returns clingfilm to cupboard for another year and puts toilet seat down* The metro ran a nice piece on the best April Fool’s jokes played in the press – have a look here – tell you what they don’t make em like they used to!

Anyway joking aside (see what I did there?!)  The Stroboscopic Artefacts party is TOMORROW!  This is their 1st ever London party so its set to go off! So far the SA family have destroyed Berlin’s Berghain and New York’s Oktave party, and now Corsica Studio’s Funktion One sound system is in for some techno induced damage.

Room One sees the man behind the label, Lucy, present his dubbed-out, turned-up vision. And be sure to listen out for him dropping cuts from his album “Wordplay For Working Bees”. Keeping it twistedly-dark, Singapore’s Xhin packs a suitcase full of sinister sounds. Xhin, the creator of some of SA’s most loved, most charted and most played releases, is something to behold: the hair, the bass line, the brilliance. Truss brings ones of his trademark experimental techno sets, its 4/4 for the dancing-yet-thinking-man. With visuals from Oblivious Artefacts -the artist collective responsible for the entire graphic concept of SA- expect Corsica to erupt into a darkly elegant, futuristic world of monochrome flowers and hallucinatory landscapes.

The SA family will be joined in Room 2 by EarToGround’s finest residents including the choice selections of Hans Bouffmyhre.

Room 1: SA Showcase Lucy / Xhin / Truss / Dadub / Oblivious VJ

Room 2: EarToGround Hans Bouffmyhre / Chris Stanford / Gareth Wild / XI (UK) / Dan Lively / Maker + Meyer
