Having been hotly tipped for the last few years as some of the rising stars of the breaks seen, A Dominant Species launch their own imprint this week, with the first release being their own “Run and Hide”. STFU records (shut the f*ck up), promises to deliver underground beats from breakbeat, to dubstep and drum and bass, and if the first release is anything to go by it’s definitely one for the bass heads.
“Run & Hide” is a ragga tipped tear out track full of energy, grime and dubbed out FX. The drop is a face melter followed by heavy edits, horns and vocal treats. On remix duty is VENT with a dirty Dubstep remix. A ragga intro followed by electronic LFO synth lines, rolling drums and sirens! Full on head nodding action.
A Dominant Species bring us an alternative mix to “Run & Hide” in the form of heavy hitting Drum and Bass mix. Taking all the best elements from the original, they roll them into a fast paced adrenaline fuelled peak time banger.
Having only been released on Monday, the Vent remix is already at number 10 in the Beatport dubstep chart, not bad going for a first release…
