M.I.A. added to Manchester’s Warehouse Project 2010

Pop-hop superstar M.I.A. has been confirmed as the latest artist to join the lineup on the Annie Mac Presents Tour when it hits the Warehouse Project later this year.

The paper plane flying daughter of a Tamil Tiger, who performed her political lyrics and urban beats at last year’s Oscars, will join the eponymous Radio 1 DJ and bass-heavy dubstep originator Rusko at the party on November 12th.

Held underneath Manchester’s Piccadilly Railway Station, the events have become synonymous with Autumn and Winter in the city, with crowds flocking to the venue each weekend from as far afield as Fife and Farringdon. Come Monday morning the rigs are removed and it re-opens as an NCP car park.

As always, tickets for all this year’s events are expected to sell out faster than a butcher during an abattoir’s strike, despite the large capacity and heavy price tag.  M.I.A.’s UK appearances are rare, and rarer still outside the capital, suggesting this is one reason to plan another ever-enjoyable lost weekend.
